Several campus buildings will be closed for 12 hours this Saturday as part of the construction of the Niagara Health and Bioscience Research Complex (NHBRC).
Mackenzie Chown A Block, Taro Hall, the Student Alumni Centre and the Plaza building will be closed on July 24 from 12 noon to midnight. This is to accommodate NHBRC project contractors, who are doing water main work that includes the installation of a fire hydrant near Taro Hall. During this time, water to the washrooms, toilets, drinking fountains, kitchen facilities and sprinklers in these buildings will be unavailable.
Security will be on fire watch during the building closures. The buildings can only be accessed in an emergency, and with a security escort. If you have any questions or concerns, contact 905-688-5550 x3717 or facilitiesmanagement@brocku.ca, or contact Cassie Kelly, director of Maintenance and Operations, at 905-688-5550 x3533 or ckelly2@brocku.ca
The Alumni Greenhouse may also have water interruptions for about five days starting Aug. 7. This is so workers can connect a water main. Faculty and staff impacted by this will get further details.
