Jubilee Court digging nearly done

Despite some rainy days in June, the major construction work in Jubilee Court should be finished by end of day Tuesday, June 29, along with the noise levels that resulted from heavy excavating and drilling at the site.

There will be some disruption in the days to follow due to landscape restoration work, but noise levels should be minor. That work will include soil modifications, fine grading and replacing plant material damaged during the heavy construction.

To the east in Mackenzie Chown, work on the footbridge that will connect D Block to the NHBRC building is expected to be complete by Monday, July 7.

The exterior walkway along the south side of D Block will continue to be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and reopened outside of those hours. When the footpath is closed, pedestrian traffic will continue to be rerouted through the interior accessible routes via the exterior entrance between D and F Blocks. Signage has been installed to assist pedestrians accessing D Block, C Block, B Block, A Block, Taro Hall and Schmon Tower.

Hoarding constructed in the corridor outside of rooms D308, D322 and D321 will stay in place until the footbridge is opened to the new building. The exterior hoarding will be completed July 7, after the completion of external demolition work which includes glass removal and saw-cutting of precast panels.

Noise and vibration disruptions will be experienced in Chown D Block and nearby buildings until end of day July 7.
