Media Talk: PM’s role isn’t the same as the president’s

Garth Stevenson, Political Science professor, was quoted in the St. Catharines Standard‘s Search Engine column on May 1. Stevenson answered the question “In the United States, the president is commander-in-chief of the military. In Canada, the prime minister is not — the Governor General is our commander-in-chief. Why is the prime minister not the commander-in-chief?”
