Craig Hyatt, associate professor, Sport Management was interviewed by The Globe and Mail for the story “Golden boy Bilodeau weighs new offers” on Feb. 17. The article also appeared on the CTV website. The story discusses the endorsement opportunities – estimated to surpass $1 million – for Alexandre Bilodeau, who by winning the moguls competition became the first Canadian to win an Olympic gold medal on home soil.
Hyatt said Bilodeau is “about as big as it gets when it comes to Olympic athletes in Canada. He has that unique spotlight on him for the rest of his life, no one can take it way. He is literally a golden boy as far as Olympic athletes and potential endorsement deals are concerned.”
