Anna Olson isn’t surprised when 17-year-olds approach her with her cookbooks. As a university student, she baked up a storm, and isn’t surprised others do as well.
As a Political Science student at Queen’s University, the celebrity chef loved making blueberry buckle, a recipe that has since appeared in her cookbook Sugar.
“Baking was my therapy when I needed a break, and also my favourite reason to procrastinate,” she said.
The Niagara chef, who hosts Fresh with Anna Olson on the Food Network, visited the Campus Store Dec. 9 to sign copies of her new book, also called Fresh with Anna Olson.
Some of the students in line wanted books signed as Christmas gifts for relatives. But many were there for themselves, bringing cameras so they could have their photos taken with Olson.
“It’s a nice mix (of people),” she said between signings.
This is Olson’s sixth cookbook. It is available at the Campus Store.
