For Brock University’s 60th anniversary year, we look back at the 127 students in six majors who took a chance on a brand new university in the fall of 1964.
We salute the Allanburg Women’s Institute, the Brock Founders Committee, and all of the union workers and community members who supported the fundraising required to open Brock’s doors and begin to build us a permanent home.
We tip our hats to the half a dozen scholars who agreed to teach Brock’s first classes, to share their expertise and build a community of learners to make Niagara proud.
We celebrate 60 years of impact on future leaders and thinkers, 60 years of breakthroughs large and small.
We marvel at the ways in which Brock scholars have shaped traditional and emerging fields of study over the past six decades.
We take deep and lasting pride in marking our 60th year as Niagara’s university.
We also mark the halfway point to 120 years of Brock — looking ahead to the 60 years ahead and reflecting on how we will continue to serve our local, disciplinary and global communities through our classes, research and deep commitment to engaging with those who need our work most.
For their 60th anniversary, Tim Hortons is bringing back the dutchie. When Doctor Who turned 60, they brought back the Tenth Doctor and Donna.
When Brock turns 60, we hope that you will come back to kick off our anniversary celebrations at Homecoming, and we hope that you’ll be cheering for our Class of ’25 when they graduate and officially commence our next 60 years.
