Dr. Diane Collier

Diane R Collier, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Studies. She researches in the areas of multimodality and everyday literacies, and is especially interested in collaborative, participatory research with children and others. Using arts-informed, qualitative, and ethnographic methodologies, her work focuses on literacies-in-process and playful improvisation. Her research documents how children use everyday texts (particularly images and popular culture) to connect with audiences both globally and locally, across home and school.
