Research Services offers grant-writing workshops on May 28

Time to apply for a grant? Wondering how to go about it in the most effective way? Curious about what’s in grant reviewers’ minds as they read over your application?

Grant-writing expert Dr. Robert Porter will share key principles of successful grant writing and strategies for pursing funding. He will be leading two workshops this Thursday, May 28 in Academic South 203.

• Session 1: Writing Successful Grants (9 a.m. – noon). This workshop covers basic principles of good grant writing, starting with the phrasing of a compelling research theme to the actual construction of the proposal itself.

• Session 2: Strategies for Success in Sponsored Research (1:30 – 4:30 p.m.). In addition to writing skills, grant seekers must focus on the relational issues that are key to success. This workshop features three interactive modules focusing on the relational issues that are key to success.

Refreshments will be served in the morning and at breaks during each workshop. Please RSVP to Erika Penner at orsadmin@brocku.ca or ext. 5332 and indicate whether you will be attending Session 1, Session 2, or both.
