More than 250 sport management students at Brock got a taste of the big leagues today when players and personnel from the Toronto Blue Jays baseball club stopped by the school for an in-class talk and Q&A with students.

The stop, part of the team’s fourth annual Winter Tour presented by TD, was organized by Holly Gentemann, a Brock sport management alumna who now works for the Blue Jays organization as manager of community marketing and player relations.

The event, moderated by Sportsnet analyst Jamie Campbell, featured Blue Jays players Dustin McGowan (pitcher), Esmil Rogers (pitcher), Todd Redmond (pitcher) and Brandon Morrow (pitcher).

The panel also featured Jay Stenhouse, Vice-President, Communications; Danielle Bedasse, Executive Director, Jays Care Foundation; Anthony Partipilo, Vice-President, Marketing and Merchandising; Stephen Brooks, Senior Vice-President, Business Operations; and Assistant General Manager Andrew Tinnish, also a Brock sport management alumnus.

Brock is the only university in Canada granting a specialized Bachelor of Sport Management degree. Now in its second decade, the program has a strong reputation within the sport industry for the quality of its students and graduates.
