Sipping, swirling and tasting a selection of Ontario’s best wines will be the focus of three Brock Days events this year.

Join us for the opportunity to taste wines from local winemakers – many of whom are also Brock alumni. Taste the story that makes each so unique. Local wines, distinctive winemakers and you – it doesn’t get much better than that.

Educate Your Senses: Food and wine seminars in the park
Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 22 & 23 and Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 29 & 30, at 1, 3, & 5 p.m., in Montebello Park, St. Catharines

The Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute (CCOVI) at Brock is hosting its annual wine seminars in the park during the Grape & Wine Festival, but with a twist. New to 2012 at the Culinary Theatre will be a food demonstration provided by Niagara College with a food pairing of one of the two wines presented at each seminar.

Best selling food and wine author and industry personality Linda Bramble will host celebrated Niagara winemakers and chefs as they present wine and food pairings while sharing their stories and philosophies.

Brock grads will receive a free wineglass at the Educate Your Senses event. Cost is two tokens (with a glass) or three tokens (without a glass). Seating is limited so be sure to register today at www.niagarawinefestival.com or upon arrival at Montebello Park.

Saturday, Sept. 22, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., in Pond Inlet, Brock University

An event for foodies and wine enthusiasts, Niagara region’s finest chefs will personally prepare extensive and succulent offerings, each fully complemented with a wine selection from one of Niagara’s premier wineries.

Whether you are a fan of Pinot Grigio or Pinot Noir, wines accentuate and highlight the flavours of food; pairing the two creates a tantalizing experience. As you enjoy the creative work of local chefs and wineries, take a moment to admire the work of local artists during a performance of Petticoats, Boots & Muskets.

Niagara-on-the-lake Alumni Wine Tour
Sunday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Begins at Inniskillin Hall on campus at Brock

Did you know that Brock’s Inniskillin Hall is home to the Canadian Wine Library, a cellared collection of Ontario’s finest VQA wines, housing up to 43,000 bottles of wine?

Your day will start on Brock’s campus, touring the Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute (CCOVI), whose graduates are award-winning winemakers.

Next, board a specialty bus, sponsored by Niagara Classic Transport, as you venture to Niagara-on-the-Lake and tour three facilities, including Konzelmann Estate Winery, Pondview Estates and Diamond Estates. Lunch is also provided.

Enjoy the entire day for $50. Space is limited to 30 participants and you can register through brocku.ca/brock-days
