Sipping, swirling and tasting a selection of Ontario’s best wines will be the focus of three Brock Days events this year.

Join us for the opportunity to taste wines from local winemakers – many of whom are also Brock alumni. Taste the story that makes each so unique. Local wines, distinctive winemakers and you - it doesn’t get much better than that.

Educate Your Senses: Food and wine seminars in the park
Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 22 & 23 and Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 29 & 30, at 1, 3, & 5 p.m., in Montebello Park, St. Catharines

The Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute (CCOVI) at Brock is hosting its annual wine seminars in the park during the Grape & Wine Festival, but with a twist. New to 2012 at the Culinary Theatre will be a food demonstration provided by Niagara College with a food pairing of one of the two wines presented at each seminar.

Best selling food and wine author and industry personality Linda Bramble will host celebrated Niagara winemakers and chefs as they present wine and food pairings while sharing their stories and philosophies.

Brock grads will receive a free wineglass at the Educate Your Senses event. Cost is two tokens (with a glass) or three tokens (without a glass). Seating is limited so be sure to register today at www.niagarawinefestival.com or upon arrival at Montebello Park.

Fine Food, Fine Wine, Fine Art
Saturday, Sept. 22, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., in Pond Inlet, Brock University

An event for foodies and wine enthusiasts, Niagara region’s finest chefs will personally prepare extensive and succulent offerings, each fully complemented with a wine selection from one of Niagara’s premier wineries.

Whether you are a fan of Pinot Grigio or Pinot Noir, wines accentuate and highlight the flavours of food; pairing the two creates a tantalizing experience. As you enjoy the creative work of local chefs and wineries, take a moment to admire the work of local artists during a performance of Petticoats, Boots & Muskets.

2012 Pairings include:

  • Creekside Estate Winery & Red Canoe Bistro
  • Ravine Vineyards & Vine and Tide Oyster Company
  • Palatine Hills & Sodexo
  • Riverview Cellars & Brock Crest Catering
  • Southbrook Vineyards & Wellington Court

Tickets for this event are $75 and can be purchased by contacting Emily Hutton at 905-688-5550 x4327; ehutton@brocku.ca
