A Brock student is heading to South Africa for an internship at North-West University.
Elyse Giroux, an MEd student, will be a Students for Development intern, which has the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Giroux is the sixth Brock intern at the university since 2006.
Giroux’s work will focus on “Human Rights Education: empowering girls in rural and metropolitan school environments” as well as theory development and curriculum on human rights issues.
The internship is co-ordinated by Sheila Young, director of Brock International, and Dolana Mogadime, associate professor in the Faculty of Education. The program is managed by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada.
