Brock co-hosts seminar on Canada-U.S. relations

Brock is partnering with the University at Buffalo (UB) this week to co-host a Binational Executive Seminar on Canada-U.S. Relations.

The seminar is an intensive five-day symposium for legislative and political staff members from federal and state/provincial governments in Canada and the U.S. It aims to enhance their understanding of their counterparts across the border.

Key themes to be discussed include:

  • the diplomatic history of the binational relationship
  • the different institutional and political contexts of each country
  • defense co-operation
  • various other cross-border issues

Programming happens at UB on Monday and Tuesday (June 13 and 14), at the Rainbow Bridge Promenade in Niagara Falls, Ont. on Wednesday (June 15), at Brock on Thursday (June 16), and at the Buffalo-Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority Boardroom, Fort Erie, on Friday (June 17).

The seminar features leading commentators on Canadian-American relations. This includes Nik Nanos, CEO of Nanos Research; Scotty Greenwood, former Chair of the Canadian-American Business Council, and Kelly Johnston, current Chair of the Council.

Attendees will also hear from former U.S. Ambassador to Canada and Governor of Michigan, James Blanchard, and former Canadian Minister of International Trade, James Peterson.

Seminar sessions are not open to the public.
