Brock University’s Strategic Mandate Agreement (SMA) reflects a shared commitment between the institution and the Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security to align Brock’s unique strengths with the province’s priorities for postsecondary education.
The Strategic Mandate Agreement (SMA) is a framework intended to support long-term institutional success and strengthen Brock’s ability to serve students, the Niagara region, and the broader Ontario economy by outlining key performance indicators and institutional goals. Brock’s identity as a comprehensive university is recognized within, rooted in community engagement, student experience, and research excellence—particularly in areas like health, sustainability, and innovation. The SMA guides Brock in its efforts to improve student outcomes, expand research impact, and strengthen its role in regional and provincial economic development.
