Sexual Orientation, Reproductive History, and the Immune System Study
We are looking for mothers of gay and straight men.
This study will investigate the biological origins of sexual orientation. Specifically, it will examine a mother’s reproductive history (e.g., # of pregnancies, male versus female children, # of miscarriages, birth weights of children) and her immune system functioning, and their relation, if any, to the sexual orientation of her children.
Mothers will fill out a short questionnaire and give a small blood sample (i.e., one small test-tube; 10 ml). The blood sample will allow us to test a mother’s immune system.
The information gathered will be kept in the strictest confidence by the researchers.
The study takes approximately 1/2 hour and mothers will receive compensation.
