Students pour in for cider course

The Canadian thirst for knowledge was quenched this week as Brock University’s Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute again offered its Cider and Perry Production program — the first of its kind in Canada — to a fresh crop of students. The course has drawn students from six provinces whose backgrounds have ranged from growers and professional/hobby cider-makers, to beverage industry professionals. Students Norie Nergisyan, left, and Nabil Goher worked together in the lab during this week's production course in the preliminary stages of turning their juice into cider.
