Sharon Janzen, Map Library Associate and Geospatial Data Co-ordinator with Brock University's Map, Data and GIS Library, readies the cake shared in recognition of GIS Day on Wednesday, Nov. 16. The sweet treat featured an image of a map created by Master of Sustainability student Baharak Razaghirad, who used geospatial technologies to assess urban tree canopies within the Town of Lincoln as an alternative to costly ground-based assessments. The complementary cake was offered in partnership with the Tourism and Geography Society student group, who also hosted a pizza party and scavenger hunt in celebration of GIS Day.
