Classics students host international conference

MA students in the Department of Classics held an international graduate student conference Saturday, Feb. 24 to explore the topic of “Entertainment and the Expression of Identity in Greco-Roman Antiquity.” The full-day event was organized by second-year MA students Esther Knegt, Francesca Patten and Rick Castle, with help from their colleagues. Papers showcased the interdisciplinary nature of Classics with topics ranging from literature, sociolinguistics, gender, art, animals, sport and sport psychology. The conference was made possible by generous support from the Department of Classics, the Faculty of Humanities, and the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
