Touring a historic prison

Students from Brock's Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice (FPAC) program explored Canada’s historic Kingston Penitentiary last month along with FPAC staff and faculty members, including Professor of Child and Youth Studies Voula Marinos, Associate Professor of Political Science Matthew Hennigar and Professor of Psychology Angela Book. During the tour, students had the opportunity to learn about the history of the former maximum-security prison, gain insights into Canada’s criminal justice system and engage in thoughtful discussions beyond the classroom. Participants also asked questions related to FPAC course content and heard from tour guides, many of whom were retired correctional officers and staff members of the penitentiary when it was still open.
