Mitchell Johns, third-year Brock University Mathematics student, worked on a peyote stitch ring during a Bead and Read session on Sept. 9. Hosted by Hadiya'dagénhahs First Nations, Métis and Inuit Student Centre over the course of four Wednesdays in September, the series will see participants create beadwork projects while discussing the book Unreconciled: Family, Truth, and Indigenous Resistance written by Jesse Wente. The Bead and Read series is one of several events taking place at Brock ahead of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Wednesday, Sept. 30. A full listing of events is available on ExperienceBU.
