Teaching Fellow headlines OER event

Rajiv Jhangiani delivered a passionate keynote address about the power of open pedagogy and open educational resources (OER) during the OER Teaching and Learning Event. Jhangiani, a University Teaching Fellow in Open Studies and a Psychology Professor at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Vancouver, B.C., drew on his own experiences as a student and professor to advocate for an increase in OER at universities in Canada and internationally. Jhangiani’s talk kicked off the three-hour event, which was made possible through a partnership between the Centre for Pedagogical Innovation, the Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) and James A. Gibson Library, and also featured a student panel and a discussion of OER policy and administration from David Porter, CEO of eCampusOntario. An OER at Brock follow-up discussion will be held on Monday, Jan. 15, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the TH253 eClassroom. Please register for the session here.
