Sustainability student wins Esri GIS Scholarship

Master of Sustainability student Erin Isaac has won this year’s $1,000 Esri GIS Scholarship for her project, “Detecting Land Cover Change at Port Weller East,” which used ArcGIS to analyze land cover data from 2006 to 2020. Geographic information systems (GIS) software such as Esri's ArcGIS is used for mapping and analysis. GIS is used at Brock in a range of programs, including Health Sciences, Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, History, Political Science, Earth Sciences, Geography and Recreation, and Leisure Studies. Winners of this scholarship are also awarded a three-year student license of ArcGIS software, a three-year professional-level ArcGIS Developer subscription and access to Esri Press publications in addition to access to training, conferences and more.
