Science in the spotlight

Dozens of Brock students shared their cutting-edge research, from rare-earth-based quantum spin systems to stock price dynamics around ransomware events, during the Faculty of Mathematics and Science's annual undergraduate research symposium on Thursday, July 31.  Receiving Outstanding Poster Presentation Awards from the Office of the Dean were Josefina Ramirez Diaz for “Exploring Rare-Earth-Based Quantum Spin Systems,” Izaak Gagnon for “Where Data Truly Starts: Bootstrap Estimation of Distribution Support Minima” and Samantha Berube for “Creating a novel sensor to test retinoid binding to retinoid nuclear receptors.”
