Grade 10 students Anj Lacuna (left) and Abby Hutton from Holy Cross Secondary School in St. Catharines learned how to check the sugar level of a sample in Brock's Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute's fermentation lab during a recent visit to campus. The pair were among nearly 200 high school students from Niagara, Hamilton and Mississauga who tested out life at Brock during Biological Sciences Day on April 30. Hosted by the Department of Biological Sciences and the Student Recruitment team, the event saw students gain hands-on experience in grape and wine science, ecology and evolution, neuroscience, plant sciences, bioinformatics and biomedical data science, and molecular biology.
