Val Fajardo, Assistant Professor of Kinesiology and Canada Research Chair in Tissue Remodelling and Plasticity throughout the Lifespan, and his three children participated in the Walk and Roll for Muscular Dystrophy Canada at Jaycee Gardens Park in St. Catharines on Saturday, May 13, along with a team of Applied Health Sciences PhD students: Briana Hockey, Emily Copeland, Aditi Nayak (visiting scholar from Amherst College), Jessica Braun and Sophie Hamstra. The event aimed to raise funds for advanced research, support patients with equipment funding, promote education and advocacy and drive policy change. Fajardo and his team, who are primarily focused on pioneering treatments for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, seized the opportunity to engage with the community and bridge the gap between scientific research and practical application.
