Shelley, the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games mascot, joined Brock University mascot Boomer for a leg of the 2022 Queen's Baton Relay at Canada Games Park on Saturday, May 28. As a part of the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, U.K., the Queen’s Baton travelled to 72 different nations and territories, including its stop in St. Catharines that saw the Centre for Sport Capacity (CSC) host members of the Brock and Niagara community. Each Batonbearer got a chance to run, walk or wheel around the brand new track while carrying the Queen's Baton. The CSC, with support from Commonwealth Sport Canada and Niagara 2022, hosted the Queen's Baton in one of the final legs of its journey before it heads home to kickstart the 2022 Commonwealth Games this July.
