Powerful exhibition crosses cultural boundaries

As part of their community nursing practicum, fourth-year Nursing students Jackeline Monterroso, Breanna Morrison, Brittany Leong and Kathryn Mazur collaborated in curation of the Road to Resilience multicultural art exhibition held at the Niagara Folk Arts Multicultural Centre on Tuesday, Nov. 20. The exhibit raised awareness for mental health and settlement issues for newcomers in the Niagara region. Newcomers wrote their stories of migration and settlement. The stories were interpreted by visual artists, including students at Sir Winston Churchill High School and Brock University and newcomer clients of the Niagara Folk Arts Multicultural Centre.
