Brock University Department of Nursing Assistant Professor Elizabeth Orr (left) provides a briefing to second-year Nursing student volunteers Lara Paterson (centre) and Oreoluwa Majekodunmi as they prepared for an online Labour and Delivery class on Monday, Jan. 31. Held over Microsoft Teams, the class used one of Brock’s High-Fidelity Simulation Mannequins to provide a realistic simulation for students, who helped to monitor vital signs and progress during labour, and were able to hear the fetal heart rate. Students were also able to answer and pose questions throughout the simulation. Helping to lead the delivery was Nursing Clinical Instructor Kim Bowen (MA ’18), Nursing Lab Supervisor Shelley Wills and a small team of Assistant Lab Co-ordinators.
