When it opened in 2008, the Plaza Building brought 86,000 square feet of badly-needed space to a growing university. It also brought striking design, with its cladding of copper, limestone and glass. Its airy mezzanine beside the full-windowed north face instantly became a popular place for students to study or socialize. It still is — including after dark.
