It was standing room only in Sankey Chamber for the third annual Marilyn Rose Lecture Series, during which author Maureen Jennings kept audience members at the edge of their seats. More than 100 people from Brock and the community came to hear Jennings, acclaimed author and creator of Murdoch Mysteries, talk about her research and writing process. Jennings discussed how she uses the crime genre to explore social history and create compelling stories. While taking questions from the audience, she advised students and aspiring authors to listen to what is inside them and to pursue that. Following her talk, Jennings signed copies of her books. Among the audience were Sandra Gruosso (left), Interim Associate Director, International Supports, Brock International, and her sons Mateo, 14, and Marco, 12, who are both Murdoch Mysteries fans and eager to get books signed by Jennings (seated). The talk was organized by the Centre for Canadian Studies and the Department of Communication, Popular Culture and Film.
