Mapping out international opportunities

Brock International and the Department of Earth Sciences welcomed visitors from Bahia, Brazil, on Feb. 28 to explore potential research and experiential learning opportunities related to mining and Earth sciences, particularly in the areas of sustainability, environmental issues and science communication. Amanda Santos Silva, Co-ordinator of Mining and Oil Initiatives with the Government of Bahia's Secretary of Economic Development (SDE) and Williame Cocentino, Senior Geologist and Project Manager at the Bahia Company of Mineral Research (CBPM), also toured Brock's campus and Earth Sciences facilities. CBPM is a government institution dedicated to conducting fundamental research that fosters mineral exploration opportunities in the Brazilian province.
