Tecumseh Centre Lecturer Sherri Vansickle (left) and Sessional Instructor April Powless were part of a team of volunteers who gathered Thursday, July 1 on the Six Nations of the Grand River Reserve to celebrate children in the community while also remembering the Indigenous children whose bodies were recently found on the grounds of former residential schools. The event, which was organized by Powless, took place at Mohawk Towing / Porter Trucking and Construction and featured a barbecue as well as a drive-by T-shirt and gift bag giveaway for children. The T-shirts were designed by Brock Sessional Instructor and PhD student Lyn Trudeau.
