Deborah O’Leary, Director of the Brock Functional Inclusive Training Centre (Bfit), and Ally Fast, Bfit Centre Manager, took Niagara Health representatives Heather Paterson, Executive Vice-President Clinical Operations and Chief Nursing Executive, and Dr. Johan Viljoen, Chief of Staff and Executive Vice-President Medical, on a tour of the state-of-the-art facility Monday, March 6, highlighting ways in which the University is supporting the region's aging population. Bfit, which relocated to the Walker Sports and Abilities Centre from its old Lockhart Drive location in 2022, offers research opportunities and community exercise programs to improve the health and quality of life of older adults in Niagara. Monday's tour showcased the facility and its programming, its impact on the health and well-being of seniors in the community and the valuable experiential learning opportunities it provides to Brock students.
