The fourth annual Health Quality Symposium brought together 50 students from Brock University and McMaster University’s Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine with 280 health professionals to consider ways current health-care providers and future health-care providers, think about health quality and safety in Niagara. The event highlighted quality improvement projects and outcomes resulting from the Interprofessional Education for Quality Improvement Program (I-EQUIP). I-EQUIP is a collaborative partnership between Brock and McMaster’s School of Medicine and the Niagara Health System (NHS). Together with health-care leaders and the NHS, front-line work is undertaken on a variety of quality initiatives which look at ways to improve patient care. This event provided students with the opportunity to present their projects in a poster format, allowing them to showcase their involvement in a real-world topic or initiative in health quality.
