Grad talks leadership with students

Sport Management graduate Shauna Bookal (BSM ‘05), who in the fall received the Brock University Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni award and was named an Alumni Brilliance Award recipient, shared insights on leadership, the importance of volunteering and being inclusive when she addressed a fourth-year Sport Management class on Tuesday, Feb. 4. Her guest presentation was part of a series of experiential learning opportunities during Black History and African Heritage Month where students were able to learn from and engage with professionals of Black, African or Caribbean descent on subjects related to their coursework. Bookal, President and CEO of the Inclusion in Canadian Sports Network, touched on how her positive experience at Brock, including the connections she made during her time at the University, has impacted her career and the way she treats her staff today.
