Exploring connections with Niagara Parks

Researchers from Brock’s Faculties of Mathematics and Science, Social Sciences and Applied Health Sciences engaged in a roundtable discussion with members of the Niagara Parks Commission (NPC) on Tuesday, June 27 to explore opportunities for research collaboration. While on campus, NPC Chair April Jeffs, CEO David Adames and Senior Director Steve Barnhart also discussed employee upskilling and reskilling, Indigenous activities, environmental sustainability initiatives and student experience opportunities with team members from Brock Professional and Continuing Studies; the Goodman School of Business; the Office of the Vice-Provost, Indigenous Engagement; the Office of Associate Vice-President, Infrastructure and Operations; and Co-op, Career and Experiential Education. The longstanding partnership between the two organizations has helped NPC improve its sustainability goals while enabling Brock faculty members and students to use NPC properties as living classrooms and labs.
