Harris Loewen, pictured with alumni Maria Shriner and Matthew Tran-Adams, conducted his final performance with Brock University Choirs on Saturday, April 1. Forty-seven alumni of the Department of Music returned to sing with the choir in "Finale: A Farewell Concert" at Cairns Recital Hall. The performance was followed by a reception at the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts, where Loewen's contributions to Brock's music program were recognized by students, alumni and colleagues. Loewen will be conducting the Avanti Chamber Singers April 29 and teaching one more course this fall before officially retiring June 2018. He has been a professor with the music department since 1987.
