Students in HIST4P42 dug into Brock’s Archives and Special Collections during their visit to the Brock University Library on Wednesday, Jan. 22. In a workshop led by Elizabeth Vlossak, Associate Professor of History, and David Sharron, Head of Brock’s Archives and Special Collections, students were introduced to archival research, embarked on a scavenger hunt and learned how to use the microfilm reader to search through old newspapers. Brock’s Archives and Special Collections houses the University library’s most unique, rare and valuable collections, including 18,000 books and more than a kilometre of records. Fourth-year students Sarah Skolud (left) and Jess March examined letters from the Arthur A. Schmon Fonds as part of their course research.
