Chillin’ with smart tech

Brock University Controls Mechanic Mark Weller (second from left) demonstrates the energy-saving benefits of a smart chiller — a high-tech system that transforms hot water into chilled water to efficiently cool campus buildings — at the Central Utilities Building (CUB) during Take Our Kids to Work Day on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Grade 9 students had the unique opportunity to explore career paths and see how classroom learning connects to hands-on work. The day featured a health and safety workshop, leadership presentations, a campus tour and an afternoon of job shadowing with a parent, guardian, or volunteer host.
