Third-year nursing student Veronika Lenkiewicz is Miss Polonia 2016. Lenkiewicz was at the St. Catharines Farmer's Market at Market Square on Saturday serving as an ambassador for the Canadian Polish Society, as part of the Niagara Folk Arts Festival which is taking place from May 6-29. The Niagara Folk Arts Festival is Canada’s oldest continually running Heritage Festival and is an opportunity to experience Niagara’s diverse multicultural community through traditions, art, culture, music and food. In her role as Miss Polonia 2016, Lenkiewicz wants the Brock community to know everyone is welcome at the Under the Eagle Banquet Hall on May 24 from 4-8 p.m. to experience the sights and sounds of Poland.
