Alysha Johnson, Brock's Lab Links Co-ordinator, explored science themes with children during a Let's Talk Science event. The University partnered with Let's Talk Science, a national non-profit organization, to offer hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) activities for local classroom and community groups on Friday, March 17 at the Pen Centre. During the event, more than 80 children had the opportunity to build their own natural structures and test them for stability as well as strength. Participants also learned about the difference between natural and man-made structures in addition to the forces that act on them. All proceeds from the event went to Community Care of Thorold and St. Catharines.
