Brock's Book Club, with members from departments across the University, was given insight into the writing process from local, acclaimed author Sara de Waard (second from left) during a visit on Oct. 26. de Waard spoke of her inspirations for the plot behind her debut novel, White Lies, and described how the character development often felt like an extension of her own psyche. The group explored the book's themes, including resilience, healing and the complexities of human relationships, and held a discussion enriched by their diverse perspectives and personal anecdotes.
