International students were given a healthy dose of information Tuesday, Nov. 14 during the annual Nursing Student Health Fair. Held at Brock's International Centre, the event aimed to provide ESL students with details on common health concerns. Fourth-year Nursing students Brittany Callahan and Jennifer Matwijow organized the fair as part of a class project, which began with a survey to identify key student health concerns. The Health Fair, Matwijow said, provided information in a "peer-to-peer interactive format where students are more comfortable asking questions.” Topics included flu prevention, stress relief, smoking cessation, sexually transmitted infections, contraception and binge drinking. As part of their continuing education in the Nursing program, Callahan and Matwijow will be at the International Centre student lounge each Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to answer questions about health concerns.
