The sounds of crackling fire, live music and laughter echoed from the top of the Niagara Escarpment as students experienced a Canadian summer pastime on campus Tuesday, June 26. Hosted by Brock International Services and the Brock University Student Union, the Evening by the Fire event marked the first of several activities planned between the two university departments — all with the goal of building on Brock’s strong sense of community. More than 80 students, both domestic and international, attended the event at the Alphie’s Trough fire pit. For many students in attendance, it was their first time making s’mores, a popular North American treat comprised of chocolate and a toasted marshmallow sandwiched between two graham crackers. Students looking to participate in upcoming events can find updates on ExperienceBU.
