Bus riders have quickly taken to three transit shelters that just opened in front of the Schmon Tower. Besides offering protection from the elements, the structures have interior lights and USB outlets for charging cellphones, with all power coming from solar panels on the roof. The improvement was a joint effort between the University and the Brock University Students' Union. BUSU is covering the $82,000 cost of the shelters, while the University paid to install the concrete bases the shelters sit on, and will provide future maintenance.
