History grad who’s making some of his own

Author, modern-day explorer and Brock alum Adam Shoalts dropped in Wednesday (May 3) to pick up a Brock University flag that he'll soon take with him on an incredible solo trek across Canada's Arctic regions. In mid-May the History grad (BA '09) will commence a gruelling five-month journey on foot and by boat, beginning in Yukon and aiming to cover 4,000 kilometres of mountains, rivers, tundra, rocks and muskeg, reaching the shores of Hudson Bay by early autumn. "You only live once," he said during his visit. Chatting with Shoalts about his adventure are, clockwise from the bottom, Humanities Social Media Coordinator Alison Innes; Marketing and Communications Coordinator Amanda Laprise; History Department Chair Daniel Samson; and Brock News Writer/Editor Maryanne Firth.
