A glimpse of history

Mandy Salter (second from left), Brock University's Art Collection and Engagement Manager, gave Senior Administrative Council members a tour of campus artworks, including Concordia, a bronze sculpture by Canadian artist Elza Mayhew. Created for Expo 67 in Montreal, the sculpture was acquired by the House of Seagram and donated to Brock in 1968. Unveiled on campus the following year, Concordia is among Brock’s oldest pieces of public art. Concordia is located in the gardens between the Mackenzie Chown Complex and the Roy and Lois Cairns Health and Bioscience Research Complex.
