They walked, ran, rolled, danced and even jumped for inclusion. More than 200 people braved the heat on Sunday to participate in the inaugural Meridian Smiles Run, Walk, Roll for Inclusion. Hosted at Brock University, the community came together to raise awareness and funds for GMC's Homies with Extra Chromies, a group that promotes socializing, wellbeing and fitness for people with Down Syndrome, and the Down Syndrome Caring Parents Niagara. Special guests included St. Catharines Mayor Walter Sendzik, who participated in the run, and Niagara Regional Police Services Chief Bryan MacCulloch, who handed out medals with individuals from St. Catharines Fire and Emergency Services and Niagara Emergency Medical Services. This event was hosted in partnership with Meridian Credit Union and Brock’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences and Student Life and Community Experience.
