This autumn marks the 20^th anniversary of the naming of Welch Hall in honour of Robert S.K. Welch — universally known as Bob — the University’s former Chancellor who also served as Ontario’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Education. On a breezy weekend after Thanksgiving that year, helping him celebrate the event were, from left, Welch’s law partner (and now Ontario Superior Court Justice) Robert Reid; the late Bruce Wormald, Welch’s law partner as well as a Brock alumni and member of the Board of Trustees; law partner Harry Thorsteinson; son Rob Welch, currently a Brock trustee; Robert Welch; and law partner and future Brock board chair (and currently Ontario Superior Court Justice) David Edwards.
