Shape sustainability at Brock by completing community survey

Brock University is launching its second Sustainability Literacy and Culture Assessment Survey, which will be open to all students, faculty and staff until Wednesday, Oct. 14.

Inspired by leading global groups and frameworks, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the survey measures sustainability knowledge, attitudes and engagement across the Brock community.

The survey has two sections and only takes approximately five minutes to complete.

The first section includes 15 questions which assess the understanding of key concepts aligned with the SDGs, a set of 17 global goals adopted by the United Nations as a universal call to end poverty, protect the planet and support peace and prosperity by 2030.

The second section features 10 questions exploring individual values and beliefs as well as awareness of and participation in sustainability initiatives. These questions are designed to help better understand individual perspectives and identify priority areas that reflect campus interest at Brock.

Everyone who completes the survey will be entered in a draw to win a $100 Well.ca gift card.

“Every response is incredibly valuable. These findings help to inform everything from engagement initiatives and strategic planning by identifying strengths to opportunities for growth,” says Associate Vice-President, Facilities Management Mary Quintana. “It also serves as an important tool for long-term progress tracking.”

In addition, the survey will support Brock’s participation in institutional rankings, contributing to assessment criteria within the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System, Quacquarelli Symonds Sustainability Rankings and Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings.

Any questions about the survey or the draw can be sent to the Sustainability team at [email protected]
