Goodman School of Business Dean Barry Wright welcomed the latest cohort of inductees and their supporters to Brock’s Beta Gamma Sigma chapter following Convocation on June 12. While addressing a group of top Goodman School of Business scholars, Mike Pilato (BAcc ’98) reminded students that their values will define how they will show up, lead and ultimately be judged over the course of their careers.
The President and CEO of Jamieson Wellness spoke virtually during Goodman’s Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) induction ceremony, sharing insights from his own career journey.
“If there’s one lesson that I’ve learned from my time here at Brock to leading a global organization, it’s that everything starts with you being your authentic self,” Pilato said. “When you are authentic, you have no competition and when you show up that way, you create space for others to do the same.”
Held in the Goodman Atrium following Convocation on June 12, the event saw 79 students inducted into Brock’s BGS chapter.
Beta Gamma Sigma recognizes the top 10 per cent of the undergraduate class and top 20 per cent of graduate students at institutions accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), making it one of most prestigious honours business students can achieve around the world.

Jennifer Gauthier (BA ’09, MBA ’26) was one of 79 students inducted into Goodman’s Beta Gamma Sigma chapter on June 12.
Pilato stressed that excellence is not defined by what one delivers alone, but how one enables others to create their best work.
“You can bring excellence in every single day and do every piece of your work on your own, but when you can drive excellence through other people, it multiplies and when that happens, your impact becomes exponentially greater,” he said.
Among Friday’s inductees was Jennifer Gauthier (BA ’09, MBA ’26), a Brock Psychology graduate who returned to her alma mater to complete an MBA.
As her career responsibilities grew, the Executive Director of Birchway Niagara was looking for a flexible part-time program to expand her skills.
“Being in the field and doing my education at the same time, I was able to apply what I was doing in my work in the classroom to enrich conversations,” she said. “But I was also able to take the knowledge in real time back to work to improve outcomes for our small non-profit.”
Gauthier said being inducted into BGS was the perfect way to cap off her Brock experience.
“I’m really honoured to receive Beta Gamma Sigma,” she said. “I worked really hard, I think I learned a lot and it’s another significant milestone to add onto your graduation day that represents the quality of education that you received and all you were able to achieve.”
Earlier this year, Goodman was recognized by BGS as the 2026 Silver Chapter of the year, a top international honour. The award provided scholarships for two Bachelor of Accounting students, Qingqing (Josie) Dong and Marko Zivkovic.
Current Beta Gamma Sigma students voted Danny Cho, Professor of Operations Management and Information Systems, as the 2026 Professor of the Year recipient.
